tv   Hannity  FOX News  October 2, 2012 9:00pm-10:00pm PDT

9:00 pm
please, always remember, the spin stops right here because we are definitely looking out for you. >> sean: on the eve of the first presidential debate, a bombshell is about to be dropped on the 2012 race to the white house. you will hear from barack obama like you have never heard from him before. a video has been uncovered from a campaign event in 2007 of then candidate obama, speaking before an audience of african-american ministers, including the reverend jeremiah wright. the tape was obtained exclusively by the daily caller web site. but you are about to see it right here on "hannity" for first time. it contains some of the most divisive class warfare and racially charged rhetoric ever used by barack obama. portions of the nearly 40-minute speech can be found online in an edited video, shot by the daily press newspaper in hampton, virginia.
9:01 pm
however, that version runs only about 9 minutes and omits the most inflammatory comments. it also does not include any references to reverend wright. in addition, it was covered by other mediautelets, including the associated press and local television stations. but the most outrageous comments were completely ignored, further proof that the mainstream media has been in the pocket of barack obama since he day he arrived on the national stage. let's take a look at what the left-wing press has been hiding since 2007. we begin with senator obama, repeatedly praising the reverend reverend jeremiah wright, who was in the crowd. keep in mind, by the time the speech was delivered in june of 2007, reverend wright was a known quantity in the world of politics, dis-invited to barack obama's campaign announceility, and appeared in "hannity" months earlier, as he attempted to defend his controversial views. by the way, his last appearance on tv during that campaign.
9:02 pm
yet, here's what then-senator obama said about him then. >> then i have to give a special shoutout to my pastor... the guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me -- [chuckles] ... he's a friend and a great leader, not just in chicago but across the country. please, everybody, give an extraordinary welcome to my pastor, dr. reverend jeremiah wright. [applause] >> where's he at? there he is. that's him. that's him right there. you are wearing a suit today. >> sean: it gets even worse, as candidate obama injects a dose of heavily racially-charged
9:03 pm
rhetoric, speaking about hurricane katrina and claims that the victims of the storm were ignored by the government. on the other hand, 9/11 survivors and those impacted by hurricane andrew, they received endless government assistance. watch this. >> i want to give you one example because this really steams me up. this isn't in the prepared remarks...: down in new orleans, where they still have not rebuilt 20 months later. there is a federal law when you get... reconstruction money from the federal government, called the stafford act. basically tsays, when you get federal money, have to give a 10% match, the local government's got to come up with 10%. every $10 the federal government comes up with, the local government's got to give a dollar. now, here's the thing. when 9/11 happened in new york
9:04 pm
city...: they waived the stafford act, said, this is too serious a problem. we can't expect new york city to rebuild on its own. forget that dollar you have to put in. that was the right thing to do. when hurricane andrew struck in florida, people said, look at this devastation! we don't expect to you come up with the money. here! here's the money to rebuild. we are not going to wait for to you scratch it together because you are part of the american family. what's happening down in new orleans? where's your dollar? where's your stafford act mony? makes no sense. tells me the bullet hasn't been taken out. [applause] tells me that somehow the people down in new orleans, they don't care about as much. >> sean: now, this notion that the government is turning its
9:05 pm
back on african-american communities while doing all it can for predominantly white areas is repeated throughout the speech. look at this. >> that's why we need additional federal public transportation dollars loaned to the highest need community. we don't need to build more highways in the suburbs if we have people in the cities who want to work and have no way to get into those jobs. we have to help connect them to the jobs that exist. we should be investing in minority-owned businesses, in our neighborhoods so people don't have to travel for miles away. >> sean: now, this is what the so-called unbiased journalists have been trying to hide for years, a glimpse into the mind of the real pam bam, one that all americans need to pay close attention to. joining me is the man who broke the story, tucker carlson. welcome to -- welcome on board. it's pretty explosive stuff. we have more that we are going to get to here. let's backtrack here. this video was released -- or 9 minutes of it and a prepared
9:06 pm
text was released. but not thead libbed remarks by the president, which are the most controversial that. never got reported on, correct? >> that's exactly right. this was covered at the time. there were reporters in the room. hia show at the time on another channel, i covered the remarks that it were released. but it turned out that most of the print reporters, maybe all of them writing on the story, were write from this prepared remarks given to them by the obama campaign. so you saw andrew sullivan, the blogger, claiming he was release egg transcript of obama's speech. but it wasn't, it was prepared remark, approved and released by the obama campaign. you can sit and read the remarks against the speech, and you will see that obama goes off script repeatedly andad libs and says things we can't find him saying to any other audience. remarkable-- a couple of things. as you watch the speech, one thing stands out at you, thftion
9:07 pm
a common phenomenon. al gore, republicans don't want to count nut census, he said before a predominantly african-american audience. hillary clinton did the same thing. you notice a change in the way he delivers the speech? >> let me be totally clear if you just watch touchdown we have seen obama speak in public over the last 10 years, will note this, accent is abcush. this is not the way obama talks. it is not the way he has talked in scores of peaches i have watched him give, or public appearances viseen him make. this is a put-on. that's one. second issue, he is telling a predominantly black audience something very clear-- the federal government doesn't like you because you are black -- [overlapping dialogue] >> sean: that's what he is saying. >> they don't like you because you are black. that's the theme from front to back, from beginning to endful they don't like you because of your skin can remember. that's a shockingly -- a nasty
9:08 pm
think this to say, a devicive thing to say, in the case of katrina, it's untrue. at the moment he utters those words, you are getting short-changed in the katrina reconstruction funds. the government had pledged $110 billion, two weeks before this speech, the bush administration gave the katrina-affected areas $7 billion with no strings attached. he was a sitting senator. he knew that and he said that anything -- anyway. >> sean: he is saying they don't care as much about you as 9/11 and they took care of people after hurricane andrew -- [overlapping dialogue] we have been investing in minority-owned businesses in "our" neighborhoods. i thought this wasn't red america, blue america, but the united states of america. is he using the word suburbs to suggest white communities? >> this is want a dog whistle. this is a dog siren.
9:09 pm
these are appeals to racial solidarity. a few minutes before that, he said "our people," our young people should have gotten the construction jobs to rebuild after katrina, but instead they went to halliburton. he is make very clear case, again, on the basis of his racial solidarity with this audience, that they are getting shafted by a racist federal government. >> sean: and -- >> unless you can nail that down factually, you cannot say things like that. it's dangerous to say things like ha. >> sean: it's incendiary. and who is the real barack obama? he said that i have no idea -- none whatsoever that reverend jeremiah wright -- i sat in the pews 20 years, he is like family to me. and he is praised in this speech. the timing is interesting because i had interviewed on "hannity and combs," i interviewed reverend jeremiah wright, we had a big battle in march of 2007.
9:10 pm
wright had been dis-invited to give the invocation at the announcement he was running for president a couple of months earlier. wright is there. this is june, 2007. wright is a controversial figure here. now it's interesting, as this whole thing goes on, he has to give this big speech in philo race. i decided to put the two speeches together. we will take a look at one and take a look at the other. this is what the media didn't report on. this is what the media didn't say. very controversial things by barack obama that was never reported on. versus the big speech which i believe was done out of political expediency, we will let our audience decide. >> i have to give a special shoutout to my pastor... the guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me... [laughter] he's a friend and a great leader
9:11 pm
to everybody. give an extraordinary welcome to my pastor, dr. reverend jeremiah wright jr. >> i have already condemned in unequivocal terms, the statements of reverend wright that have caused such controversy and in some cases, pain. for some, nagging questions remain. did i know him to be an occasionally fierce critic of american domestic and foreign policy? of course. >> when hurricane andrew struck in florida, people said, look at this devastation. we don't expect to you come up with your money. here. what's happening down in new orleans? where's your dollar? where's your stafford act mony? makes no sense. tells me the bullet hasn't been taken out. [applause] tells me that somehow the people down in new orleans, they don't
9:12 pm
care about as much. >> reverend wright's comments were not only wrong, but divisive, divisive at a time when we need unity, racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of monumental problems, problems that are neither black nor white or latino or asian, but rather, problems that confront us all. >> sean: who is the real barack obama, tucker? two very different people. >> speaking different language, different cadences, difference accent, different gestures. the falseness is overwhelming. whether it's a southern accent or an asian accent tdoesn't matter. he is playing a role in one of these cases. i assume in the hampton speech, he is putting on a persona he doesn't normally up on to pander to the crowd. but who knows. either way, it's a remarkable exhibit of falseness on display.
9:13 pm
there is no other explanation -- i would say this about any politicians? >> i go back to al gore, he went before a predominantly african-american audience and went into preacher mode and the republicans have the wrong agenda -- they don't even want to count nut census. hillary did the same thing herself. but we have -- we have the accent. we have anger. they don't care as much about you. also -- [overlapping dialogue] >> not to our neighborhoods. >> sean: so, what do you conclude? >> look, i conclude that this -- well, i am not exactly sure is the truth. i am not god. i can't read obama's mind or look into hotdogs soul. but it seems to me, this is a case of extreme pandering. he is talking to an audience in a way he thinks resonates with them and he is also using fear to motivate them. the core of this speech, a very simple message. the federal government doesn't
9:14 pm
like you because you are black. imagine telling people that, imagine trying to make them more fearful, more paranoid, more hurt. that's a divisive and sick thing to do and this is on display. this is not his opinion. we are posting the entire video-- this is the 40-minute -- >> every second. of course! we will be relentlessly attacked, people will say this has been reported. actually, it hasn't been remitted. i know because i reported on it the first time. second, we will be accused of clipping this to our end. so we'll put the whole thing out there. but the first thing that will jump off the screen, this is not the barack obama you have watched for 8 years, if you have been paying attention. he is whipping up race hatred and fear. period. >> sean: how would you classify the comments? racial? is that -- >> of course, i would! of course! i absolutely would. if a white politician got up and said, here's what you should know about black people, they don't like you.
9:15 pm
they near charge, they are shafting you. they are profiting from your suffering. what would you say hais? that's racial rhetoric designed to make people fear ?oofl let's go to what he says about black churches in this speech. the whole video is up on the daily caller, if you want to look at the 40-minute speech. the media put up 9 or 10 minutes >> a little less than 10. >> sean: a little less than 10 minutes. here's more of that speech that we have never seen before. >> when it comes to faith, we have been told that all that matters is what decides us, evangelicals, don't be talking to mainland protestants. black church is different from the white church. had stories about trinity united church of christ because we talked about black people in church. oh, that might be a separatist church. catholics can't be getting together with protestants or
9:16 pm
muslims or jews. >> sean: let me play that through this prism. that's when i interview audio remember, reverend wright was in the audience. this is june. he was dis-invited from the -- from the invocation when obama announced he's running for president. came on my show, two months later. this is the last interview that reverend wright d. hear what he said about black liberation theology and when he goes on to say in that particular clip there because we talk about the black people in church. here's my exchange with reverend wright. this is on the web site today. let me just inform our audience. i want you to respond, if you can. it says commitment to god. by the way, i am with you. commitment to the black community. commitment to the black family. adherence to the black work ethic. reverend, if every time we said black, if it was a church and those words were white, wouldn't we call that church racist? >> we would call it christianity. we have been saying, there was a
9:17 pm
white christianity, we have been saying that since white christians took place in the slave trade and since they have had churches in slave castles. we don't have to say the word white because we live in the united states of white america-- i am going on ask you -- >> how many-- you are angry and defensive. i am trying to ask a question here -- [overlapping dialogue] >> you haven't answered my question. >> sean: it seems to be, when you say the blacks community -- [overlapping dialogue] >> it seems-- it seems -- [overlapping dialogue] >> sean: whether or not you like it, i am going to get my words in. you should not separate by race in this day and age. and a lot of people are going to say, we are supposed to be united under christ. that goes into black liberation theology and there might be one
9:18 pm
interview after that. but black liberation theology, the black community, the black this, the black that, i am asking him -- he is praising him here and he give this is other speech. did he just say those words in philadelphia to make the controversy go away? what does he believe? >> let me say that i believe that reverend jeremiah wright married mishle and barack obama 20 years ago tomorrow. i believe that was their anniversary tomorrow. amazing. look, my personal feeling is that he speaks to each audience what he thinks that audience wants to hear. but let me tell you how toges totally disingenuous it is. i reported on this. people had concerns about black liberation theology t. wasn't talking about black people in church. to say that before this audience is again, to reinforce the point that the rest of the world doesn't like you because of your
9:19 pm
skin color this. makes people more fearful and afraid and by the way, more cut off from the rest of america. this is the opposite of what a uniter didr does, this is what a demagogue does. this is wrong. >> sean: it will be interesting to see if anybody in the media has the courage to ask about this -- >> don't hold your breath. >> sean: 2008, he was asked one time about bill ayers and he just got a guy he started his political career in his house, gave speeches with and sat on boards with. he's just a guy in the neighborhood. acted like he barely knew him and he got away with it. tucker, thank you. >> sean: coming up, continued reaction to the explosive new obama video. it is the smoking gun we knew had to be there, evidence from congress that shows the escalating violence in benghazi, leading up to the killing of our ambassador and two navy seals. why was there not more security why was there not more security after the attack on a british what's truly amazing about mercedes new mbrace2 system...

9:23 pm
>> sean: now, you just saw multiple clips of then senator barack obama in 2007, making some of the most controversial statements we have heard from him. this video shows a side of the president that he, his advisers and the mainstream media have tried very hard to hide. with only 35 days until the election, what does this mean for this race in 2012? here with reaction, david webb and fox news analyst juan williams. good to see you. very, very interesting here because, first of all, you never hear the president spiel like this in public. >> of course not. >> sean: so he is literally pandering to an audience, demagoguing, pushing racial division in the country by
9:24 pm
saying, the people of new orleans -- they don't care about you as much to eye predominantly african-american audience, saying, hey, we don't need to build highways in the suburbs. we need to build nem in our neighborhoods. first of all, what do you make of the changing cadence? >> well, we have seen that game played before, hillary clinton, al gore, joe biden and whatever. that's political pandering. this isn't pandering, though, sean. this is obama being who he is. he didn't evolve from the frank marshal davis, derek bell teachings, he didn't evolve from his involvement with bill ayers and reverend jeremiah wright. it's time to realize he doesn't pander, while he uses whatever he needs to at the mome, this is his true self. look at his record. look at his 1998 remarks at loyola -- redistribution. look at his remarks on the warren court, not going far enough. he believe this is stuff.
9:25 pm
he didn't evolve. he has not grown into the governance of this country. he is who he is. >> sean: the media and the dnc spin is, we knew about this speech. this is what they are saying. >> the transcript,-- the transcript is you new. nobody's seen that before. number 2 is, you know, you are hearing and seeing an obama that he -- it seems -- i keep going back -- who is the real obama? that's not the one that speaks to the american people -- >> this is the real obama-- you believe this is the real obama? >> this is the real obama? >> this is candor. here comes out as a combination of black militancy, the radical black militancy, the idea we are not what martin luther king wanted was judge by the content of character, as all americans, when he spoke to the nation. this is the obama that says, i will prey on individual groups and use you as i need you, but i am going to use the black community. and this is usery, you are using
9:26 pm
the black community. they are in the same horrible positions in many cases. what have they gotten from him? nothing! >> sean: juan, certainly, it's racial division. certainly it's a different obama than we saw in the philadelphia speech. certainly, when he is talking about, well, the people of new orleans, they don't care about us as much. he is saying that, hey, we have to, you know, take all of this. we should be investing that money that is going to the suburb and it is minority-owned businesses and is nathe same barack obama that gave a speech on race? >> you know, i love coming on your show here, sean, because i have been here for all of these conspiracy theories-- wait a minute. does he sound the same as he did in philadelphia? yes or no? >> no! >> sean: why? >> he was speaking at hampton
9:27 pm
university-- speaking -- he speaks differently. why? >> he was relating to them directly. >> sean: relating to them directly. >> white politicians, black politicians, people do it in front of jewish groups or italian groups-- they change their accent, cadence i. [overlapping dialogue] >> let me tell you something, politicians do this ripeatedly [overlapping dialogue] >> that's a dodge. >> it's not a dodge. you are playing a race card now i. no, we are not! >> you tried the redistribution video, it fell flat-- wait. let's stay with the video. before, you are giving me spin here. let me ask you this i. no, i'm not! i am trying to speak to you honestly. >> sean: he is saying that white america... he is describing a racist, zero-sum game society i.
9:28 pm
oh, sean? >> the people of new orleans, they don't care about people -- within days, the american people had baby formula, blankets, food, donations. and that quote, we ought to be interested in minority-owned business, taking money out of the suburbs and put it in our neighborhoods -- i thought we were the united states of america. very different obama. why won't you admit that? why are you protecting? >> sean-- why?! you are just like the mainstream mede yai. are you kidding me? i would condemn it in a second if i saw at this time way you are describing it. i just don't see it that way-- you are protecting obam a. you are making excuses -- you are making excuses. >> no. when i see that you guys throw dirt and see what will stick. all do you is hope that something is going to stick this time -- [overlapping dialogue] >> can i just throw the facts in here -- >> hang on!
9:29 pm
let me say one thing here. you remember that, after katrina, there was a great deal of national outrage at the slow response and secondly, that president george w. bush-- you said this in 2007 -- [overlapping dialogue] >> let me finish my point. >> juan, this is a lie. >> george w. bush went to jackson square and he said, there is a history of inequality and racism that has its roots in what happened here and we as americans have to do something to overcome that inequity. >> okay. that's all great. but this is senator obama, who lied did the stafford act, $6.9 billion -- >> he didn't lie about it. >> yes, he did. >> he did not. look at record! the record shows-- let him finish. >> he lies about the way the stafford act is applied. he's either that smart, the smartest man and needs to be president or he is lying. and he lied about it because the
9:30 pm
$6.9 billion went there. >> sean: we have to take a break -- we have more of the tape that we haven't run yet that are pretty eye opening. the video this was reported on. the media was in at the speech, but they doesn't pick up on the obvious things. when the transcript was released, it was only the prepared remarks, not thead lib remarks, which is where he went off script. we will have more. now, they will also handicap the first presidential debate. could hard proof of the benghazi coverup tonight, more never-before-seen pictures of terrorism a few months before four americans were slaughtered. does anyone have the nerve to say this was spontaneous, caused by a video released in july? much more, straight greetings from the windy city of chicago. people here sure are friendly but some have had a hard time understanding my accent. so to make sure people get every word of the geico savings
9:31 pm
message i've been practicing how to talk like a true chicagoan. switching to geico could save you hundreds of dollars on car insurance... da bears. haha... you people sure do talk funny. geico®. fifteen minutes could save you fifteen percent or more on car insurance.
9:32 pm
9:33 pm
9:34 pm
>> sean: welcome back to "hannity." let's go to the other tapes we haven't had time to run yet. again, this was part of a speech, most which have was publicized, but not all of it. it wasn't revealed until tonight with the daily caller. let's run a piece of that. obama talking about his meeting with reverend wright. notice the different speaking style. >> that's where i met reverend wright, started going to trinity united church of christ. he helped me on another journey and introduced me to someone
9:35 pm
named jesus christ. [cheers and applause] and i learned that my sins could be redeemed. i learned that those days that i was too weak to accomplish myself, maybe he could accomplish them for me, if i placed my trust in him and i learned that ordinary people can achieve extraordinary things. >> sean: reminds me of al gore when he said that republicans don't each want to count nuthe census if you are black. let's look at what he says about the l.a. riots. again this, part never reported. watch this. >> many of the folks in this room know just where they were when the riots struck in los angeles. when tragedy struck the corner of florence and normandy, most of the ministers here know that those riots didn't erupt
9:36 pm
overnight. there had been a quiet riot, building up in los angeles and across this country for years. these quiet riots that take place every day are born from the same place as the fire of destruction and the police decked out in riot gear. they happen when a sense of disconnect settles in and hope dissipates. despair takes hold in young people all across the country, look at the way the world is and they believe that things are never going to get better. you tell yourself, my school will always be second rate. you tell yourself, there will never be a good job waiting forny excel at. you tell yourself, i will never be able to afford a place that i can be proud of and call my home. that despair quietly simmers and makes it impossible to build strong communities and neighborhoods. and then one afternoon, a jury
9:37 pm
says not guilty. or a hurricane hits new orleans. and that despair is revealed for the world to see. >> sean: now, let's go back and look side by side. remember, it was an important moment as philadelphia speech on race. let's compare that president obama on speaking about race, to the one in 2007. side by side. >> i have to give a special shoutout to my pastor... the guy who puts up with me, counsels me, listens to my wife complain about me. he's a friend. and a great leader to everybody. give an extraordinary welcome to my pastor, dr. reverend jeremiah wright jr. >> i have already condemned nunequivocal terms, the statements of reverend wright
9:38 pm
that have caused such controversy, and in some cases pain. for some, nagging questions remain. diknow him to be an occasionally fierce critic of american domestic and foreign policy? of course. when hurricane andrew struck in florida, people said, look at this devastation! we don't expect to you come up with your own money. here! what's happening down in new orleans? where's your dollar? where's your stafford act money? makes no sense! tells me the bullet hasn't been taken out. tells me that somehow the people down in new orleans, they don't care about as much. >> reverend wright's comments were not only wrong, but divisive. divisive at a time when we need unity, racially charged at a time when we need to come together to solve a set of
9:39 pm
monumental problems, problems that are neither bloc black nor white or latino or asian, but rather, problems that confront us all. >> sean: obama's other race speech. >> well said. pandering. we talked about pandering initially with juan. a politician, or barack obama panders when they have a broader audience, a mixed audience. that's what we see in the philadelphia speech in the original speeches, if you watch obama's speeches, all through the years, you see the real obam ain reverend jeremiah wright's church 20 years, is who he is. >> sean: you are saying that he has been contrived, that he has hidden his real views, for all of these years and has done so success ne? >> he has hidden them, but his policies show them. whether it's 1998 in loyal aredistribution, his words. we are showing the president in his words.
9:40 pm
so who is america to believe? believe when you are speaking to your friends, your audience, your group, you are who you are. when that track record plays out, you are pandering when you are in philadelphia-- let me go back to juan. >> you are in philadelphia, talking to a 71% white country. you pander, keeping your base and acolytes where they are. >> sean: juan, you said, you don't have any problem with the way he speaks differently in front of different audiences, explain why that's acceptable to you. when al gore it did it before a predominantly african-american audience and goes into black preacher mode. republicans have the wrong agenda for african-americans, they don't even want to count you in the census. i found that despicably pandering. tell me why it's acceptable to you. you said, oh, that's acceptable to me-- is it acceptable? >> all of this -- all this is about-- why is it acceptable? >> let me speak. all it's about is politicians
9:41 pm
trying to relate to the people in front of them. if you take on an italian accent when we have an italian night at the whitous house -- who has done that. >> sean. >> are you kidding? all the presidents do that. >> sean: a whole speech, 40 minutes! he does this for 40 minutes! >> let me say something to you, what you are seeing here, i thought was actually a wonderful speech. i just hope that you do put this out on the web because the-- the people don't care about us and america doesn't care about black people is what he is saying -- [overlapping dialogue] >> sean: we should take money out of the suburbs. >> excuse me. >> sean: no -- >> what he said, there should be just and equitable use of funds, just what president bush said-- we don't need to build more highways in the suburbs, we should be investing in minority-owned businesses in our neighborhoods [overlapping dialogue] >> everybody agrees-- all americans -- >> i am a capitalist.
9:42 pm
i think all americans agree, we need to invest and get minorities in this country involved in the capitalistic system. we should be encouraging people to start businesses-- i agree with that -- last word -- >> the growth of the black community in america all through the years has been cal capitalism, small businesses before civil rights. what we see is a switch to the entitlement state and the destruction of the black family. the removal of the black man. the government will give you your benefits and control them -- >> david, let me tell you this. you and i agree -- david, you and i gray on this point -- [overlapping dialogue] >> what are the numbers of children born to black families, two-parent families in the civil rights era? in the fight for civil rights, versus today from 80% to 83% in the opposite direction. that tells you something about liberalism. >> sean: we will be talking about it i am sure in the days
9:43 pm
to come. don't forget, "hannity" tomorrow night, following the debate in denver, live from the spin room, 11:00 p.m. and still to come, liz chain cheney -- liz cheney on what has been suspected on the benghazi attack on 9/11 was spontaneous or unexpected. ambassador stevens knew he was in danger. nothing was done by the obama white house. we will
